안녕하십니까?

대한환자혈액관리학회 회장 김경환입니다. 국내외적으로 많은 일들이 있었던 2025년도 어느덧 하반기로 향하고 있습니다. 대한환자혈액관리학회(KPBM)는 2014년에 창립되어 환자중심의 혈액관리를 모토로 국제적인 학회로 발전하려는 꿈을 가지고 있습니다. 여러 회원들과 PBM을 사랑하는 많은 분들의 성원을 부탁드립니다.

올해 제11차 학술대회는 PBM을 사랑하는 세계적 석학들과 함께하는 유익하고 행복한 학회가 될 것으로 기대합니다. PBM의 기본부터 글로벌 추세, 의료기관에 도입, 적정 수혈, 국내 PBM정책의 발전방향, 혁신과 미래지향적 PBM, 철분제제 사용의 실제, PBM과 관련한 논란 분야, 그리고 디지털 혁신과 미래 트렌드 등 PBM 전분야에 걸친 심도 있고 충실한 강연과 토론이 이어질 예정입니다. 그리고 이번에는 인공지능 기반 동시통역 프로그램을 운영하여 강연자와 참석자가 더 가까이 대화할 수 있고 서로를 이해할 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 기대합니다.

PBM은 환자혈액관리를 환자의 입장에서 고려하는 다학제 학회입니다. 여러 임상학회와 의료진들과의 연계로 PBM이 임상진료 현장에서 유익하게 환자에게 필요한 방향으로 활용될 수 있도록 힘쓰겠습니다. 혈액이 사람을 구한다는 오래전 개념을 탈피하여 혈액이 사람에서 위해를 가할수 도 있고, 그렇기에 근거중심의 적정 수혈이 더 절실함을 강조하는 시기로 변화하고 있다는 것을 많은 분들에게 알리고자 합니다.

학회 준비를 위해 애써주신 조직위원님들, 명예회장님, 임원님, 그리고 사무국 직원분들께 감사드립니다. KPBM의 발전과 미래를 향한 도약에 참석하신 분들 모두가 함께 해주시기를 부탁드립니다.

Hello.

I'm Kyung Hwan Kim, President of the Korean Society for Patient Blood Management(KPBM). 2025, a year marked by many events both domestically and internationally, is already well underway, and we are now entering the second half of the year. Founded in 2014, the Korean Society for Patient Blood Management (KPBM) envisions developing into an internationally recognized society with patient-centered blood management as its motto. We ask for your support, including from our members and those who enthusiastically support PBM.

This year's 11th Academic Conference promises to be a fruitful and enjoyable event, with the participation of world-renowned scholars who share a passion for PBM. We anticipate in-depth and engaging lectures and discussions across the entire PBM spectrum, covering everything from the basics of PBM to global trends, its adoption in healthcare institutions, appropriate transfusion, the future direction of domestic PBM policy, innovation and future-oriented development, the practical use of iron supplements, related controversies, and digital innovation and future trends. Furthermore, we anticipate that the AI-based simultaneous interpretation program will facilitate closer communication and understanding between speakers and attendees.

KPBM is a multidisciplinary society that considers patient blood management from the patient's perspective. We will work with various clinical societies and medical professionals to ensure that PBM can be utilized in clinical settings in a way that benefits patients and serves their needs. We want to raise awareness that we are moving beyond the outdated notion that blood saves lives to a time when we emphasize the potential for blood harm and, therefore, the urgent need for evidence-based, appropriate transfusions.

I would like to express my gratitude to the organizing committee members, honorary Presidents, members and secretariat staff for their hard work in preparing for the conference. I ask for everyone's participation in KPBM's advancement and leap forward into the future.
